Skipped to Hawaii on Tuesday.

Post by ironman1956 »

I skipped to Hawaii on Tuesday using my dipole and a barefoot Uniden Bearcat on Lower 38. My new antenna goes up this weekend. It will be 42 feet in the air. My radials on the Sirio GPE 27 will be at 25 feet on an extended factory mast. I can't hardly wait. Glad I got back into the hobby. :bounce:

Good deal, I would like to make a contact there again. Get that antenna up and shout for the east coast in the afternoon, 38LSB, I'll be on.

Skipped out to Michigan, Ohio, and a long 15 minute chat with 154 up in Kenai , Alaska on Sat. evening the 11th of Oct. My new Sirio base antenna is up 44 feet or so and works excellent for long distance. Will check my local chat next week. I have 2 Uniden Bearcat SSB980 radios, one for a base and one for mobile. I do like them. Skip has been awesome. :bounce:
