Grouding location

#141797

Post by tignmig »

I'm about to rewire my system... and will attempt to do it properly this time. Here is my question: My battery has been moved to just behind the passenger and driver seat in the tub of the jeep. The "heater" sits very close to it. Should I run all the ground wires (Radio, Amp & Battery) to a single spot on the frame? I think the answer is yes but I want to make sure before I do it. Thanks for the help...

I believe you are supposed to ground the radio and the "heater" to the same spot in order to help prevent ground loops

Thanks... that's what I thought I just wasn't sure If I should also ground the battery to the same spot or not... I think I got it squared away though. Thanks again.

Heater?? I thought Jeep was now installing some sort of auxiliary heating unit behind the seats when I read this?? I had to read VGs post to figure it out because I didn't see the need to ground a heater?? We call "Heaters" amps here or amplifiers even sometimes Linear's
