Big Boomer and Raider

One of my local guys up here is a retired fellow who has these two old tube amps..a Kris Big Boomer and D&A Raider that he asked me to look over since I'm the neighborhood "High Tech Redneck" <LOL!>

I found a manual for the Kris but I can't seem to find one for the raider. Does anyone happen to have one they can share?

I haven't fired up the Boomer yet because he told me he smoked something on the bottom of the amp so I will pull the cover off it tomorrow and see what's what. He told me I could see what was toasted on the bottom after I remove the cover so at the moment I'm not worried about that one.

The little Raider seems to work real clean and put out about 100 watts on AM as it sits now. It has 4 6LQ6 tubes in it..I read on Rfparts that they can safely do up to 70 watts per tube, but this rig has a few miles on it. Would that be about what is to be expected? If new tubes were installed do you think it would it do ~~ 240 watts? The 6LQ6's seem pretty expensive--from 30 to 75 bucks per tube. I'm not sure if it's worth re-tubing..Any thoughts on this old beastie?

Thanks for any input!!

I picked up a sweep tube amp that has 3 35LR6 (35V heaters) and It does 200W with single final radio 12PEP
I would think you will see 250 but not fully sure about the old tube stuff...

I talk on A thunderbolt 305 , its A 1 driving 3 tube amp and all the tubes are 6LQ6 and I see upwards of 650 watts pretty regular . Thats with A 20 watt drive . Im not sure but I think the 6LQ6 tubes are the big ones and you should see more than 240 watts , but Im no tech .
