I have a ground plain antenna but i am clueless to what kind it is.I thought maybe if i described it some one could tell me what kind it is.Its an 5 piece aluminum antenna that's about 18 foot long.It has a plastic load on the bottom of it that's about 8 inch's long. The load is not round....more like an octagon shape and its white,i believe it was red at some point but has faded with age. Thanks for any help.
RA the guy i bought the antenna from told me it was a A99 but as soon as i seen it i knew it was something different. Its a five piece aluminum and the best i can tell it has no tunning rings.
What ever it is,it talks good with low SWR's :Peace!:
Sounds like a simple 1/2 wave to me...based on the limited info'. But indeed a pic would help. How many ground plane (horizontal) elements coming out (if any)?

Yeah its nothing fancy that's for sure. No it doesn't have any horizontal elements, its basically an aluminum pole with a plastic cover over the coil on the bottom of it.Not very pretty but it seams to be working ok.
