my best cb buddie(my dog)died this week
to the memory of my German Shepard (Gizmo)of 11 years who loved and demanded to go into my radio room with me everyday and lay on the couch next to my recliner and watch me talk on the radio has died. he"d perk his ears up and stare at the radio when people talked and he"s get excited when people would use those noise toys.
well one night my wife was tired and forgot to take the chicken stew off the stove and went to bed.he was a huge dog and had a habit of standing up and pull any frying pan or pot off the stove if we didn"t take care of it.well he got ahold of the bones and ate them.when i came down in the morning he was bloated really bad.we raced him to the vets for surgery.
they put a needle in his gut to get the methane like gas down for the surgery.the surgery went well but there"s one thing that makes me want to KILL the next morning when i went to see him they decided it wasn"t a good time, why not i asked? they said he bloated again.did you put a Pek Tube in his gut to release the gas?they said no.i was furious are going to at least use the needle again to release the gas? they said they would right away.
i got home and told my wife and she was really mad that they didn"t call to tell us about the gas.there"s stiches in his gut and being bloated could rip them she said to them.they said they"ll do it right away and to call later that evening.when she called they still didn"t have the time,WHAT? we were really mad now.they did it right away then.well he died two days later.
the reason why? it was because there were 5 vets that with out checking with one another were giving him 15 to 20 different drugs each and every day he was there.drugs that could give him diareha, vomitting, blood blisters in the stomach, and so on.WITH OUT LETTING US KNOW.my wife knows about dogs and the drugs and our poor dog wasn"t supposed to have them, another vet told us later this week from another office that they actually KILLED him by doing that with the drugs and by not installing the Pek Tube.
i could tell ya more because there"s more on how they kept hinting about putting him to sleep even on the first time he was brought in.on the times when i was finally able to see him he couldn"t even get up to walk but he kinda like raised up to greet me with his big alert brown eyes and would raise his paw for me to kneel down.man everyone this is hard
well after he died we took his body to a vet hospital in another town to do a autopsi.blood poured out from the box from his mouth because he"d bled internally for days.they were very upset and said the other place KILLED him.he had a huge blood blister in stomach from the drugs and the blood leeched into his stomach.that other d#$% vet wouldn"t even put a micro tube down his throat to check on his stiches when they said something might be wrong because his blood was leaving his body,DUH,YES,it"s filling up his stomach.
sorry for such a long story but i like all the members here and wanted to let you all know about my dearly missed cb buddie.i loved that big galoot alot and can"t believe he"s gone.we decided to have him cremated and he"s going to be placed on our mantel with the pictures of our other babies.i have to mention that we never had kids so our pets are our kids.this morning was the first time i tired going in my radio room but after a little while i couldn"t handle it.
yes,we are suing for the big padded bill they hit us with.$4000.00 credit with PetCare of which that vet office used to the max when they heard about the credit line.i can"t handle this anymore,i have to stop thanks for taking the time to read.

Coondog, so sorry for your loss. Been there a few times ourselves, and although you'll never forget them, the pain lessens with time. Our last was a big(115lb) shepard/doberman mix (Holmes).
We are lucky enough to have a caring Vet who will, if need be, stay up all night with a sick animal. What happened to you shouldn't have. Inquire with your attorney about having their license to practice revoked.
The last thing from your mind right now is finding a replacement for Gizmo...it always felt so unloyal for me to do so. But having a new l'il scamp around helps fill the void in your heart.
You'll need to grieve for a while, but don't torture yourself for too long.

Very Sorry for your loss
This hits very close to home for me. I have three hounds and love them like children, it would be hard for me not to knock those vets responsible on their **Censored**'s. I am sure it crossed your mind. I know that all life will pass but I hold on to the hopes that one day I will see my best friends again. When I am on my radios they spend hours with me in my room, sometimes being a nuisance, but a good nuisance as you know. My condolences are with you and hope you find comfort in your actions against those butchers. You can report them to ripp off web site, do a search and they should pop right up, they may be able to get you some sort of vindication.
Take care..

I'm sorry about your loss. I'd be working on trying to spread the word about the morons at the vet's and possibly talking to the BBB or anyone else willing to listen so someone else might avoid what you just went through.

Hi Coondog, I am sorry for your loss. I know it herts, I have lost a few over the years and it never gets easier. I have a pure white German Shepard now and he is 13yrs and his hips are starting to give him prob's.
It a shame about the lack of comunications within the goup of Vet's, but try not focus on what happend but on how Happy you made his life and how happy he made yours.
Take care Coondog and all the best to you and yours.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

You have just got to love those German Shepherds! They are some of the most loyal and loving dogs.
I lost mine a couple of years ago, which I had had since 2002. Just a couple of weeks ago, I found a replacement Shepherd. I just hope she turns out to be as smart and protective as our last! Hoping her and my son will grow together, that way he can play outside and I wont have to worry about someone walking up on him!!!
Sorry to hear of your lose. I know that there is no real replacement for the one you lost, but you will find one to fill the void.
