what this forum needs is 1 place to go to find all the basic info... I know i've asked you guys a dozen questions already, if we kept a post with all the major radio functions, options, lingo in one place it would give people somewhere to look before asking 15 different things like i've been putting you guys through!
You mean things like the 10khz switch, band selector switch, talkback settings, how to properly wire your radio/amp, how to set SWR's, etc., etc.
You could call it "Introduction to Radios" or "Radio Basics" or "FAQ's" Those are just a few.
That might help save a little space rather than having new members asking the same questions again and again.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way it is now, it's just an idea. :Peace!:

yeah, i'm certainly not saying it's easier to set up... but over time it'll be a LOT easier than having to answer the same questions over and over every time a new guy finds this lovely little haven we have here.THUMPER wrote:SOUNDS GOOD TO ME JUST MEANS I GOT TO RUN THROUGHT THE FORUM AND MOVE THINGS AROUND I'LL SEE WHAT THE CLOWN THINKS IF ITS GOOD WITH HIM I'LL DO IT BUT WILL TAKE SOME TIME TO MOVE THINGS AROUND :Peace!:
Hmm
I can do the one on how to jerry rig anything with nothing more than a Multi Purpose tool (preferably Gerber, but any will do) and a bit of tape (not always required!)
Lol Like the incident I noticed some leaking from the overflow valve on my radiator... as I touched the hose the hose and Pipe fitting it was clamped on came off the radiator.. So pull out my gerber and cut/filed the 3 supports off what was left to expose a good half inch of pipe again, plucked out the piece that broke off in the hose, and clamped that sucker right back on! Haven't had a problem since!

HEY THUMPER WHAT IF WHEN SOMEONE GOES TO TRY AND CLICK NEW POST AND THE SUBJECT THEY ENTERED IS ALREADY A POST LIKE THE ONE YOU ARE ABOUT TO, YOU GET AN ERROR MESSAGE TELLING THIS SUBJECT HAS ALREADY BEEN POSTED AND EITHER IT WILL TELL YOU WHERE AND WHAT DATE TO GO TO OR IT WILL JUST CARRY YOU TO THAT POST??? JUST A THOUGHT! MAYBE A LOT OF WORK INVOLVED NOT SURE THOUGH.
