SSB on a cobra 29?
i'm taking an interest into sideband, but before i spend all the time on research, is it even possible to get a mod for my cobra 29 so i can talk on sideband?

Actually...yes, you can add sideband to the Cobra 29. But it would require adding components and reworking the board which will make it too big for the case. Then you'd need to realign everything. In other words, while it is possible, the time and effort spent on doing it wouldn't be cost effective. You'd just be better off buying a new radio.
