Wreck Today

#21950

Post by Phaze91460 »

My 18 year old got into a wreck today with my Jeep Grand Cherokee. He and his friend were ok. Other driver crossed 3 lanes directly in front of him and he didnt even have time to hit the breaks. Other driver went to the hospital with back/neck pains. Police faulted the other driver.

Some of the pix I took at the scene.

Thought that area looked familiar.
My mom had a wreck over in that same area about 2 years ago. Not nearly as bad though.

Yup stickman, that was a ranger. I have other pix as I take pix of everyting dealing with a wreck. But I posted ones showing the worst of the damage. Its hard to see on the ranger but the freme behind the right front suspension is bent in ward. There were no skid marks until after contact was made. From the direction of turn on the ranger to the impact area he was angled twards the jeep incresing the speed of impact. I figure my son was doing 45-50 ( Speed limit was 45 ) and the other truck couldnt have been going over 35 to make that turn with leaving rubber. Say impact speed of near 65-70. The jeep moved the ranger aproximatly 45-50 feet after contact. There was a third vehicle involved but I didnt post pix of that either. It was a 3 year old honda accord who was waiting to turn in the direction the jeep was going. The ranger hit its bumper and tore the plastic a little.

Sorry to hear about it, but I too am very glad the boys weren't hurt. I'm also glad to see the ZJ's air bag deployed, too. And I'd agree, the Jeep along with the Ranger are scrap metal now. But they are replacable.

Glad to hear no one was seriously injured. Sounds like everybody was lucky this time. The upside is, it's all experience. He'll be able to see what someone is going to do before they even make a move after awhile.

They may be sore tomorrow. Sometimes the "pain" doesn't show up for a day or two.
