Hey guys I was wondering what I should do with the excess coax on my base setup , I would say I have about 30' too much coax ....should I just cut it and put another end on it ? I just aint that hot with a solder gun though.......

I would take a look at some of the other postings on here, I know that people recommend cable in multiples of 3' sections,

Yeah I may just swap all of the coax out....I have 75' comming from the antenna , But I have a 50' that I may just use instead of the 75' .....but I was thinking I may just be able to cut it where it fits , but i dunno

Cutting is ok, just remember, I think the rule of thumb is evenly divisible by three.

I have never had any issues with 3' one way or another. I have 100' running from my base to antenna.

Do not coil extra cable. back & forth loose wrap.

Yeah that i am what I am trying to avoid, ( coiling it up ) So I figured it would be easier to cut it and make it to the right length

Unless you have a good soldering station and experiance with soldering It could cause you SWR problems doing a cut.

If you are comfortable with your skills .... Go for it.

Push that cable where you want it, out of the way and then check your SWR's and see what cha got. If there good, I would run with it.
