RCI 2995DX

I posted this in another room, but cant remember where! So Im going to do some updates in this room.
The RCI 2995 is FINALLY GETTING UPDATED! YEA! For years this radio has suffered from a weak power supply. This radio is pumped up the way it should be has a power supply unrated for the big watts. Finally RCI has ended making this poor model. All 2995s on the market right now are old stock.
The upgraded RCI 2995DX will be here in late MAY 06 according to RCI. They have designed a new power supply we are told to keep up with the watts. This is a long awaited change!
Just keeping everyone informed of a factory update!

Will it be possible to get just the power supply to replace the one in the 2995DX I won on the raffle?

Don't worry about it Bob you should be fine!!!!!
If the radios not modded to the max, you'll be fine. GI Joes been around forever, and you should be happy your getting a fine base. He'll set you up right!

I'm having our local guy go through it for me. Radio checks said it was'nt sounding too good. The receive was pretty low too. People that are normally slamming my meter (on your radios Mike) were only giving me 7 or 8 on the meter. I had to crank the RF power up pretty high to sound half way decent.

Don't fear. Everyone around here goes to him. There's a ton of great sounding radios that he's worked on.

The funny thing is this; He aligns, tunes, and peaks a radio. Then gives it back. There's a few guys around that can't resist getting their own screwdrivers inside of them. Two day later he's back fixing them because they've been blown up. I'm not touching mine!

Yup very common! 99% of any radio problems I encounter performance wise are warranty sticker removed radios!
