How to find short - HELP

Well this is a mystery... you know how the cable usually breaks near the connectors or somewhere when it bends at a weird angle, well that did not happen to me. I have no idea where the short is but it is somewhere in the middle of the line!

Yesterday I hit a speed bump and I guess that jostled everything and I just heard everyone drop. I figured it was somewhere near the radio as usual but not the case. I jiggled the wire all over and nothing happened. As it turns out when I slammed the car door the short un-shorted itself so that means the break has to be somewhere away from the ends.

Any idea how I can find the short without pulling all the wire out and shaking it? I am looking for that magic bullet solution lol. I know someone has a trick, hold a magnet and key up so the short will glow or something hahahahaha. If only that really worked LOL.

Yes I know, I could just buy a whole set of new cable but I will fix the short by cutting it out, why you ask? Because I can and just for the hell of it! :-P

Happened to my Wilson antenna. I haven't fixed it, since I unscrewed the base and saw a nice built in PL-259 staring at me. I'll just stick it on my MFJ trunk mount if I ever have a need to use it again.

Anyway. I thought the short in the wilson coax was at the end where it has to make a sharp bend. So, I cut about 1' off and used the coax in a home made roll-up J-pole. Well, I was talking and I went to move the coax and BOOM, signal gone. ARGH!
