Ok, which mount....

OK, so I'm getting a Predator 10K. I'll mount it on my Peterbilt. However, I want or think I need a new mount as to mount it at a 45 degree angle. This will be a mirror mount of course.

1st. Do I need the Predator stabilizer stud? There are two designs... SO239 connection and Terminal connection. Which one do I need? I have a standard Amphenol pl259 on my coax.

2nd. Which mirror mount do y'all suggest. I've used and seen many... most are junk and rust out rapidly or simply don't stay tight and end up making a nice long tail outta the antenna LOL. There's nothing worse than running 95000Lbs. and having something slam the side of the window at 75mph. Been there. Done that. Don't wanna go back. LOL

TIA

First, DONT mount an antenna bull horn style ( 45 degree angel ) it will screw up its function.

Second, the studd is for mounting through a metal plate, you wont need it.

Third, Wilson has some heavy duty aluminum mirror mounts which you can order from most of our sponsors.

And last, mount the main or only antenna on the passenger mirror. Will send the signal left and forward twards the on comming traffic.

I also would not recomend mounting at a 45% angle. But tillted toward's say 11 o'clock would be OK.

On my work truck, when I had the 10K on my mirror, I used a mirror bracket, that had 4 bolts that you had to tighten-up, to install it on the mirror bracket. (alot only have two)

I never had a problem with it moving. Even damn near ripped the mirror off the side of the door one day, when I got a little too close to the roof, of a car-port! Thought I was going to bend the shaft of my 10K into a horse-shoe! And the mirror mount never slipped.

Dont remember what brand of mount it was, but found it at a TA Truck stop....Just look for one that has 4 mounting bolts.

Also. would recomend getting the Predator Stud Mount too...You can take off the stud which comes with the mirror mount, and replace it with the Predator one...The Predator Stud Mount match's up perfect with the Predator antennas, and is stronger than what comes with those mirror mounts...

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
