diagram for 12pin Royce 613 radio.

I'v looked and looked and can't find anything on the Royce 613 radios, or the 12 pin mics.

My problem is it's keying up, but no modulation.

Boy, why anyone would use a 12 pin is beyond me. Are you trying to make it original like restoring it? If not, perhaps you could modify the mic plug to accept whatever you want? Just a thought and a bump for your post.

since info is sparce for that radio you will need to troubleshoot it the old fashioned way. If you can you need to disassemble the plug end and first visually see if all the wires are connected to the plug pins. Next step is using a continuity meter or an ohm meter make sure each wire is not broken under the insulation by testing each wire from the pin to where each wire connects at the mic end. There will probably only be two wires from the mic head itself. For it to be 12 wires in all suggests it's a power mic maybe ?

Nope, not restoring it just trying to make it work again. I would love to be able to modify it to a 4pin, but I dunno what I would have to do. It is a power mic, and has channel (up/down), mic gain, aswell as volume on it. but I don't need all that, I just wanna be able to talk.

I took the mic apart at the plug, and one wire (black wire) is broken off a little ways, with no pin or anything left.

Now... what to do. I'm a total newbie, Trying to learn all I can though.

Just took it completely apart, that black wire isnt connected anywhere in the mic itself either, so it's gotta be one of the others. Fixing to go get my meter and check all of them and see if they are broken.

I own and have owned many Royce radios but I can't recall any of them having a 12 pin connector. I have some with odd connectors but not 12 pins.

Is your 1-613 one of those two piece units where the wired handset has all the controls, as well as the mic and speaker, which connects to the brain box with the inner workings?

I have it in a sams manual:

1- 12v source
2-9.18v source
3-4.96v source, says it is part of mic assembly
4-8.77v source
5-8.73v source
6-6.93v source
7-6.27v source
8-5.10v source
9-??? near the power/volume deal
10-next to where it says "see audio output circuit"- that may be your pin
11- next on off/volume
12- comes off #7's pin and goes to an LED rcv indicator.

I hope that helps, I'm not very technical but I have a killer set of manuals.

drdx, I'm gonna have to pass on the manual, as of right now. If I ever change my mind on that, I'll give you a holler though. I really only need the wiring diagram for the radio and I think I will be fine. I don't see where it can be in the mic, I checked all the wires on the mic, and none are broken. (one end of ohm meter on one end of wire, the other on the circuit bored where it's soldered.)

well if you have eliminated the connectivity of the wires from the plug to the circuit board inside the mic, the next thing to do is use the info on the voltages posted by DRDX at the radio side and see if the voltages at each pin is like shown. A manual could be a great assist to saving time. It will have the scheme and pics.

and I realize a manual would really help, but it's not my only radio (although it's one of my favorites) so I can take my time and fool with it.
