Microphone wiring

Hey guys, I have a Cobra 148 on the bench, and I am trying to wire a 4 wire Cobra coffin style microphone to this. I did it before, but cannot remember what wires I changed around inside the mic head to make a 4 wire mike work on a 5 pin. With the 4 wire mic, you do not have the switch wire, so you get a loud squeal out of the speaker when you key it up. I somehow switched a wire from the mic element and the PTT switch. I am not thinking too clearly lately. Has anyone done this before, and remember how they did it?
