Mic suggestions.
I'm looking to get a new mic to replace my stock Uniden pc68 mic. What is your favorite mobile mic and why?

Hi RRB,
I like Astatic microphones. I have good luck with them and get one for every new radio I buy. Clodhopper's RK56 is also a very good mic for noisy conditions. To answer your question we need to know the conditions you have like is it being used as a base station? Is the vehicle just loud (exhaust, etc.)? Are you looking for an amplified mic? Really the choice is yours.

My favorite mics for the mobile are the D-104M6B and the Road Devil, both made by astatic. The 636L is pretty decent too, but it's my least favorite. Another one I am pretty fond of is just the old plain jane Cobra stock hand mics.....the ones also referred to as the "coffin style". I always have good luck with those as a stock mic.

Re: Mic suggestions.
If your looking for a Mic with a little "Kick", and noise canceling capability, plus a echo board and a few sound fetchers, then the RF Limited Extreme 2018 is great!
If your wanting a good sounding, well built, solid noise canceling Mic, and not wanting to spend $50 for a Mic, then the Ranger SRA 198 is awesome...
In my work Van I have lot's of back-ground noise to deal with, so I use a SRA 198 on my Stryker 447 and people are always telling me how good my Base Station sounds...
In my Suburban tho I don't have back-ground noise problems so I use a RF Extreme 2018 with my Cobra 29 LX LE and it gives my Cobra that little extra punch, plus lets me have as much echo as i want without having to have a echo board added to the radio!

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Thanks folks, Its for my radio in a Chevy Trailblazer. noise isn't much of an issue I just wanted a little more push, umph, balls, punch. and some NC can never hurt.
Re: Mic suggestions.
