through the roof antennas

Post by bydawg13 »

i have seen a number of antennas that bolt through the roof trucks. i like the idea of the coaxial hidden in the headliner. i was thinking about running this type of antenna on my new truck after i get it in oct/nov. i will have a roof mounted cb also, and an amp, but that will probably be under the seat or something. but how are these antennas, any good?

I personaly dont like cutting holes in a perfictly good roof.

I say git a mag mount Wilson 5000 and STICK it ON the roof !

i have used mag mounts on my last pickup. i even used a soft piece of felt between the mag and the roof and ive used a thin piece of rubber and it still wore some of the paint away. i dont mind drilling into the roof...i do good work. i just wanted to know if they were good or not. so were looking at a roof mounted wilson 5000, roof mounted cobra 25 NW Classic with a palomar 2 pill. it will be mounted ina 2005-6 dodge ram 2500 cummins. if i can gather the money ill upgrade to a general lee
