working on getting things set up again
working on getting things set up again
Dug out my IC-2200h, Jpole, and 213 coax. I got it all hooked up in my radio room. Good thing about 2m is it doesnt need to be outside lol. Sorry for the poor quality pics but these are from my cellphone. Digital Camera is dead.
Checked into the local traffic net on the Bluemont Repeater 147.300 just to see if I could make the repeater key with everything setup like this.

Its not much, just want to get back on the air lol. Working on getting other radios hooked up just takes a little time and weather to cooperate with me.

Strange, I have the same tray table and heating pad. That bottle of water looks suspiciously familiar as well... Oh, that isn't waterChief_River wrote:That could almost be at my place... I have the same red plastic cups and the same can of mint Skoal...
I need to get a 2 meter radio one of these days. Just get myself a nice handheld and see which repeaters I can reach.

I don't have any Skoal --but a red cup and wood 'eatin' trays/tables does look familliar... GOOD luck getting your set-up going again! I am in the process also, with my base CB station.

Re: working on getting things set up again
Me too. Just missed out on a very nice, excellent shape Astatic D-104 Night K Ranger on ebay. I missed it but I sure made them pay. The final on it was $174 and change with $15 shipping. I was wondering if that was a fair price or not, or if I dodged a bullet? It was also wired for a six pin radio, and my Galaxy DX-2517 is a 4 pin, so that would have been another question... six to pin wiring diagram?FarmeroBrown wrote:I don't have any Skoal --but a red cup and wood 'eatin' trays/tables does look familliar... Not being able to edit posts is most aggravating... I'll have to get used to proof reading...

I was told you can't edit your posts until you hit 100.
Yeah rewiring a mic is something I'd do in a heart beat. All I'd need is the proper wiring diagram.
Re: working on getting things set up again
After a month of trying and work and weather causing issues I finally got the 148 put in the Bronco. Still have some wires to hide and need to get the radio mount in but it is hooked up and talking. Made a couple local contacts through all the racket today and received great audio reports on the old Cobra. Showing 4 watt deadkey and 4.5 watt swing on am and showing about 12-13 watts swing on ssb on my Kris 100 watt power meter. I think the D104M6B helps with the audio some. No luck with any DX yet tho. Swr is good as it can get too. Once everything is calibrated and you check the needle doesnt move. Tried a RS external meter and built in meter same result on both.
