D 104 M6B MIC CORD
I want to change the cord on my D104 m6b cause I bought it used and who ever owned it before me kept cutting the plug off instead of un soldering it, now the cord is right at the curly section, makes it difficult to put another plug on.
if i can find that white plastic plug inside the mic, i can put what ever cord on it i want, just wouldnt know where to get a socket like that unless someone happens to know the part number.
the mic is in near mint condition other then the cord being cut so many times.
would like to replace the whole cord or find the socket either one.

When you say socket do you mean the molded rubber part that holds the cord in the mic. If you want to use that part I have replaced a couple cords by using a hair dryer, (my wife's, ssh don't tell her I used it), heat it up to pull the old cord out and stick the new cord back in before it cools. If the new cord is smaller use shrink tube to build it up. Make sure it is a tight fit so you can't pull it out easily. If it is still loose you could use a rubber based cement to hold it in place.

Looks like he might be talking about the connector on the mic end of the cord that plugs into the circuit board, Greg.MDYoungblood wrote:When you say socket do you mean the molded rubber part that holds the cord in the mic. Okay I got you now, thanks Sly, you can pop those pins out by using a really small screwdriver (jewelers type) or a large pin. That notch at the top of the pin is the latch that holds it in. The wires are just crimped so you can spread it open and remove the wire , after changing to the new cord, push it back in the hole and it will snap back in place. Draw up a diagram of the wire colors of the old and new so you don't get them confused.
