Well after discussing this and that about the predator 10k and the wilson 1000 with BigBopper . I've decided to go with the 1000 mag Mount at least the whip wouldn't break and i can move it when needed to .

Both antennas are great, the Wilson 1000 is a little easier to handle.

I would have to say the 5000 mag mount. I had one on my camaro and it was solid as a rock. Mine hit some really low lying trees but never fell.

No doubt, I'd go with the 5000. Mine has slapped the sh** out of some trees and has never budged an inch. All I've seen is sticks and leaves blowing around behind my pickup.

Well oknaz, I'd have to say the 5000 simply because I have one.

I don't think there is any TX/ RX performance difference between the 1000 and 5000. I could be wrong.

I think the only difference is for how much power you will be running.

I agree with Bob. Mine has absolutely killed tree limbs but the antenna hasn't moved at all.

Have both. I favor the 5000 for "ears", but, for un-screwing and remounting, the 1000 is a little more user friendly. I find the 5000 a little more difficult to line up when screwing back onto the base. Having said that, if you're not going to remove it frequently, I'd reccomend the 5000. You can always just tip the mag base and all if you needed to for a short trip into a parking ramp or such.
