Other Mics?

There is a post going on the RF limited 2018 turbo echo mic talkback and agree it is an excellent choice ( [Please login or register to view this link] ) but what if you have a radio that already has echo and talkback or don't want either, which mic would be a good choice. I have always been a D104 person having both desk and handheld mics with a couple of Turner handheld. Lets hear what is your favorite.

I have always been a D104 fan on the People's band.

I have had Turner's, Kenwood's, Heil's (with dx element) it was not bad on the other licenses.

the superstar pistol grip mics are very nice,, great full sound and cheap $20 and come with a battery for that price, all metal, i have tried them against a bunch of mics and they win for sound quality. these are clones of the original JMR 40 mic, i have an original nos JMR and the superstar clone actually sounds better than the original(probly due to the original having a plastic body and the superstar is a heavy metal housing and button) and i have also tried it on multiple radios, this is one mic that sounds great no matter what radio its plugged into.

I'm a big fan of the CR577. Same style as the 2018 but a tone and volume control. They sound great on everything I have tried them on.

I have the 2018 paired with the DX-979 and got the talk back turned up on the radio. I just turned down the talk back on the mic. as for the echo, I don't have it on my radio but you can turn it down on the mic if you don't use it. had the mic ever since I had the radio and ain't had no nary no trouble atall outta either one of them.

I am a big fan of the Astatic 636L with the chrome cable cord. It requires no batteries, and works well on almost all radios with no headaches. Because it isn't powered, no over modulation or driving.
