10 meter contesting

This weekend 26-27 is the CQ World Wide DX Contest.

The CQ WW is the largest Amateur Radio competition in the world with over 30,000 participants.

here is a look at how it works, contacts are made very quickly exchanging signal reports with dx zone code.

This station is in France, roughly 3,142 miles from me, I'm using my ft897d/100 watts and a center fed dipole 25 feet up.

Contesting is great fun.

I was fortunate to work with a group, W8LT, from West Virginia in the 1998 CQWW DX SSB Contest Multioperator and we finished 11th in the world.

It keeps you young.
