Adjusting power mike in conjunction with dynamike
What's the best way to set this up? Should the Dynamike control on the radio be all the way up and adjust the power mic from that point? Thanks

It all depends on what has been done to the radio and what power mic is being used, a good place to start would be to set the dynamike to the 12 o'clock position and turn the power mic up slowly and ask a trusted local for a radio check, I usually plug an external speaker in and use the pa function and see what I sound like.

Re: Adjusting power mike in conjunction with dynamike
i personally run the radio all the way and make the final adjustment on my mic, be it a d104 or a turner "the only amplified mic brands i run"
If you wish to hear what you sound like i would highly recommend you pick up a watt meter that has a "monitor" jack, there are many on the market that have this function.

Depends on the radio and the Mic, but basically I do as stated. Set the radios Mic gain at 11 or 12 o'clock and adjust the Mic from there.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I've always done the opposite, primarily on D-104s, I turn the mic adjustment just slightly, 1/8 of a turn, then use the radios mic gain.

That's right, Let the radio BREATH, and let the mic set the audio level, you will be sounding good. If you got a second radio/handheld to hook up on the side or a little ways away to monitor your audio you will get it str8 quick like!dirtyjob wrote:i personally run the radio all the way and make the final adjustment on my mic,
