Re: Realistic mic to Cobra
Hi all I am having the same kind of problem with a mic that I am trying to wire up to work on my old Realistic Navaho. I bought a desk mike form Buxcomm and it turned out to be a power mic, not a problem with that. Problem is I have audio, shield, ptt but there is no receive line. Realistic has it so it has to be there to work any ideas. The Mic is a ma-com MB-4000

Re: Realistic mic to Cobra
I'm trying to convert a TRC 446 radio to a from 6 pins to a Cobra 4 pin as it has no mic. Wires inside radio are Red, yellow, green, pink, and white.Was told to clip pin 4 and 6 and use remaining three for 4 pin Cobra din plug. But non of the remaining colors match the Cobra colors mentioned.Anyone have time to help me out on this?

Re: Realistic mic to Cobra
I have it as follows:
TRC 446 PIN OUTS
1 = audio
2 = rx
3 = tx
4 = no connection "channel up"
5 = shield
6 = no connection "channel down"
you didnt state what model mic you want to use but above are the pin outs of that radio, so match them up to which wire does what for your mic and wire accordingly.

Re: Realistic mic to Cobra
Hi douglasnc,
If you haven't remove the din plug from the microphone yet look inside and you will see numbers on it giving you the pin position. write down the color and number and transfer that to the new plug, so pin 5 on the old plug will be pin 1 of the new plug and so on. Pin 2 would go to pin 4, pin 3 would go to pin 3, and pin 1 would go to pin 2. This might help some too but it depends on the real manufacturer of the radio,

Not sure where TwentyTwo-Zero got those pinouts from.
