Congratulations fatcat on the contact. I wasn't as fortunate today but yesterday I made a few contacts. The most interesting one was a older gentleman that goes by dirty old man out of Idaho he is 77 years old and a talker. Fun to chat with. Turns out he and his wife is coming through Knoxville in the summer and wants to meet up on exit 112 for coffee. you'll meet some really nice people on DX.

Cheap bare foot? It doesn't require power to work DX. I find the DX more rewarding when I use lower power. In fact, power isn't needed at all...just a good antenna. I've worked Australia with 12 watts SSB and a Wilson 1000 magnet mount.
