galaxy 99 sideband meter?

galaxy 99 sideband meter?

MY galaxy 99 for some reason has no signal on sideband.but the guys i talk to give me a 3 and an 8 on my connex 4800.but when i go on the galaxy 99 the dont move the meter but they sound the same .and they told me i give them the same signal.i turned VR 2 but it did nothing.is there anything more i can turn or ajust for the sideband signals at all?

i have all that info to big booper but what one do i turn?lol...i dont wanna mess anything up more..if not ill just send it back and get a refund.

That would be VR-2 for the SSB S-meter

I dont think you read my post on top i already turned vr 2 it didnt do anything for some reason.the guy that givees me an 8 i could only get his signal up to half a pound...very odd.hmm

Was it me, i'd take it to someone that has the equipment to do a proper alignment on it. Could just be a minor alignment prob.

ok i tested here with a guy in my town tonight hes 2 miles away and he gives me his normal signal a 9.for some reason anyone over about 5 or 6 miles or so is giving me no signal.any info will help thanks!

Sounds more and more like receive is slightly out of alignment, or perhaps some bad capacitors somewhere in the receive circuit.
