Roof mount support needed?

Will the Wilson 1000 roof mount need the extra roof support that I have seen suggested for the Predator10k roof mount?

Specifically, I remember reading a thread where a circular saw blade (there were other reinforcement suggestions in the same thread) was used to reinforce the roof.

Its not that you need it however since you are going through the trouble to remove trim and the headliner to mount it why not put the extra insurance in while you are there. God forbid you catch it on something but if you did the saw blade spreads the force out over a larger area to avoid distorting the roof panel which is the weakest sheet-metal in your vehicle.

Running a Wilson, that shouldn't be an issue, especially if it's base loaded. The stinger will be flexible enough to absorb the shock. Unlike a predator with a large shaft and a really heavy stinger that doesn't have much flex at all.

Does the Wilson 1000 need to have an adapter mounting point on the inside to change the connection angle or do all the necessary hardware/connection pieces come with the antenna in a plug-and-play setup?

I guess I'm making this more complicated than it is, but just want to be sure I've got all the pieces in place prior to getting started with the install. I read that the Predator 10K is mounted with a puck mount/pig-tail adapter for through-the-roof applications. Does the Wilson 1000 require a similar setup?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks! Just so I'm clear on how things go together, could someone tell me whether the plastic standoff needs to be above or below the roof?

Above, it's an insulator.
