Callsign Numbers
Is it necessary to add call sign numbers to a call sign? I spoke to a guy in Oregon yesterday and he asked for my numbers. I don't have numbers yet. I guess it makes it easier for someone who keeps a log of their contacts. I started a log of my contacts.

Re: Callsign Numbers
Most just make up a number, could be anything from a couple digits of your SS number, phone number area code, last couple digits of your zip code, birth date, or even a number you just like. Make it at least 2 digits, most out there use 3, some 4, make it easy to say and understand.

Re: Callsign Numbers
Pick something that might be meaningful to you but yet simple and easy to understand under rough conditions. I often hear some guys using obscure word(s) as their handle and under rough conditions leaves me wondering, "what the heck did he say???" Me personally, I use the same call sign on this forum as I do on the air, KP68 ( a lot of cool things went on in 68 during the space race). Makes it easier for people to recognize me.
