I have 2 schotchy diode "upgrades" 1 is bat 85 the other is 1nn6263, in a galaxy 95t (board EPT690010C) are either of these better for receive / noise reduction than the factory 1N60P?

Hello Napa67,
Welcome to the forum. A Galaxy 95T is a good old girl, one of a few Galaxy radio's with a 6 digit counter, just a couple of cap changes and a mild tuneup it should be good to go. Replacing the germanium diode (1N60P) with a schottkey (I would use the 1n6263) will lower the noise floor (white noise, it does nothing for static) slightly but you will end up increasing the volume (by the knob) and the noise is right back. A lot of shops just are interested in increase the output, find one that will align the receive and you will see a difference.
