Uniden PC66XL Swing/Var Power Mods

I just picked up a Uniden PC66XL, made in the Philippines.
I changed the knobs to have the power/volume and squelch on a single double knob.
I added a talkback switch to the back.
I want to know how to add a varable power to the old squelch knob.
Also a swing kit to one of the switches.. maby the ch9 switch...

I just came here to ask the same thing. I have a Philly made PC66 that I added talkback to through a separate pot but I was wondering how to add a swing kit to this radio.

I am new to the cb mods. I have seen where it says to adjust the L11,L12,L15. How do i do that. Do i turn it clockwise or counterclockwise. How far do i turn it. Any information would be great. I dont want to smoke this radio, it is like new.

you have to peak them. it is not a left or right turn to do this. could go either way.
the right way to do it is inject a 1k tone into the mic and as it is swinging your rf power you peak each pot to get the most wattage out of the radio. if you do not have a tone generator you can say audio drug out and peak the pots that way to get you close. you also need a good watt meter to do this and a dummy load to get it right. some guys are even downloading a tone to their computers and turning it on and put the mic to the speaker to get the same results.

forgot to tell you use a cobra 25 service manual to see how to do the peak. same radio as the uniden. you can get a copy on cbtricks.com to look at what to do.

here is the service manual that shows how to tune the radio. do not mess with any other pots unless you have the proper equipment to do them right.
