2sc1969 finals info needed
I just received 20 2sc1969 finals and guess what fake, will only key up about 1/2 watt. I'm **Censored** that these aholes from China wasted 5 weeks of my time. Got them the other day and just tried 1 this morning in a Washington base and nothing but the 1/2 watt.
I have a claim for a refund from the Chinese crooks overseas.
Where can one buy the Eleflo BC-20 I think is the good replacement I have read about.
Or another good replacement for the 1969.
I did read about the fake trannys over seas but just wanted to see if I could get good ones, NO NO
So im looking for a good 1969 replacement here in the states.
thanks

If you only want to buy one or two check out "CB World", a sponsor here, he only sells the real deal. If your looking for more than that I would use one of the reputable online electronics stores like "Mouser" (used only as a reference), they get cheaper and shipping is better in multiples of 10. Another good source is always donor 23 channel radios, the junkie looking non sell able ones usually work but no one wants.

Re: 2sc1969 finals info needed
Well i saw a post in another place about the eleflow.
Person tried a good 1969 in a radio and got the 4 watts out on am and then the Eleflow he only could get 2.5 watts.
Has anyone tried the Eleflow with good results?

Another thing to look at is changing the driver and final to IRF520 transistors, that seems to be the popular thing to do these days. There are kits just for the Cobra radio, comes with a mica, resistors, cap, and diode needed to make the change.

Re: 2sc1969 finals info needed
2SC1969's are about obsolete, I wouldn't bother with them unless trying to repair to factory specs / original.
Especially do not order any transistors on ebay unless you want counterfeit / fake / not up to spec parts. I ordered 1969 finals back in 2004 and also got fake transistors that had no output, I too got a refund, although was from a US seller. Reading other forums over the years, fake transistors are rampant on ebay and other non reputable suppliers.
While it is a MOSFET, the IRF520 has been used in most CB radios these days, and can generally make it work in place of most standard CB final transistors. They are plentiful, cheap, also can be ordered from mouser or digikey to ensure 100% quality components. I used them in tons of radios years ago, and they certainly work, might take you a bit of research though.
At any rate, good luck with your projects, just don't buy most semiconductors from ebay; if the price is cheap, they are likely fake.

Re: 2sc1969 finals info needed
Here's 1 for you.
Newark electronics I bought 20 optocouplers from them 8 days ago and no shipping yet. And I get a feedback survey from them did not leave a good one.
I paid $10 for priority shipping 2-3 days and they let me do that on line.
So now I just got off the phone with them and they say oh those are coming from the UK. So I ask the girl then why did you let me pay $10 2-3 day shipping. Had no answer puts me on hold and I blasted them for not disclosing on their site about selling something that is not in their possession to ship in the 2-3 days. I said cancel the order and she say they have been shipped and are on a boat on their way. Point is the UK cant buy USPS shipping so it has to be shipped to them and then me. On Hold comes back and said they will cancel order now I have to watch charge card for a refund. These US and Chinese parts suppliers are useless these days!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 2sc1969 finals info needed
If you're buying 1969's for repair of an older radio such as the Washington, then get them from RFParts. Yes more money, but they are legit and been around forever. For other parts like optocouplers and standard electronics parts, Mouser or Digikey have never let me down and ship fast, again you pay more, and their site say's what they have in stock and what they do not. I use to buy parts from an overseas supplier, but their shipping sometimes took a month or two (it got real bad towards my last couple orders), and the bargain prices just ended up not being worth it, so I went to the last two mentioned parts suppliers for general purpose parts and never looked back, the extra cost got me my parts when I needed them.

I have accounts with DigiKey Mouser Granger and many more. Guess I was trying to save money but Newark never disclosed parts are in the UK and allowed me to buy 2-3 day shipping which is useless if coming from the UK. Oh well lesson learned.

I hear you on trying to save money, I do / did the same, so I don't blame you for trying; as long as you get a refund when it doesn't work out, at least you learn something from the ordeal.dss56 wrote: September 13th, 2018, 8:26 pm Pioneer621

Hopefully you can find some places with better prices, but I personally am skeptical of many.

PM Redlight that is a member here and he may still have some 1969 finals for sale. I bought 15 from him a few months ago and have just about used them all up and they work just fine. he made me a good deal on 15 at one time.

Are you in dire need of one right away? I could look through my CB carcasses and see if I've got one.

TNT
thanks so much for the offer. I was just trying to stock up on a few items and the finals were 1 of them. I do have a couple here but having to weed out the crooks on Ebay and the net is frustrating. Just wanted to let people know what I went through so they will not order from overseas or from Newark unless you ask if the item on order is being shipped from the USA.
Again thanks for the offer very nice of you.

No problem.
Yes, counterfeit electronic components are now becoming a major problem. Unscrupulous dealers in China will buy or get in some other way all the reject parts which aren't up to spec, or else they'll manufacture complete dud semiconductors and sell them as genuine product. I really wish we could bring manufacturing back to the US but sadly those days are long gone.

To the original poster.
I buy direct from ELEFLOW usually I get 100 1969 and 50 2166 from them.
They also sell quite a few other transistors.
Very easy to deal with and you know your getting the original item.
You would probably have to buy 20-30 minimum I’m not sure but they won’t sell a couple.
They are the only Recommended supplier for Cobra CB with 1969 fitted.
I’m in Australia and there’s no agent here for them.
Google and check if there’s an agent in the USA there may well be from memory.
Cheers
