DX Mobile Finally Finished (for now)

Well, i finally finished the 51 dx mobile install. The basic run down is: RCI 2950dx radio.palstar meter, texas star dx250 (at 100w) driving texas star sweet sixteen, LMR400 transmission line, fatboy r6 antennas. At 1600w 4w reflect, 14.0v. 1.15 vswr. she's a talker, now im just waiting for the dx to start rolling so i can put it thru its paces. tried to post more pics bunt cant get more than three up, hmm. also the back antenna looks weird and crooked in the picture but it is straight and perfect. must have been the angle i took the pic, weird..

Looks good, post a few more pics, heck 3 pics at a time is better than none. How do you have the antennas setup, co-phased, slingshot, etc.?

honestly i have never measured it. if i had to guess the total height from the ground to the tip of the antenna, i would say around 12ft maybe? i dont know

well, i got the two meters in. i was gonna go with bird line sections, meters etc but thats like $600 for everything, naaaahhhh. just went with two palstar meters for a little more than half the cost. one meter monitors the driver box output and big box reflect, the other meter monitors the big box output and antenna reflect. now if the skip would start rolling so i could play with it all i would be a happy camper. (i dont know why but my phone camera likes to make things look crooked hahaha. the meters look crooked but they are straight)

Every time someone takes a picture of me ... I find myself blaming the camera as well.

Also, with a setup like that, I'm wondering how far your mileage drops when you're transmitting? Or did you simply install an extra 454 with a 25 KW generator in place of the rear seat to handle things?

I like it, nice looking Rigs, the truck and the radio setup. I ran an 8 with two batteries and a hotter alt for a long time, worked great, I bet yours does too.

I only had a 150A alt but I did have two Cat D9 batteries so it worked good. In the evening I am on 37/38 LSB perhaps when the propagation is good we can talk.
