Shure 577b mic
Hello all dxer’s,
I have two Cobra radios; 5 pin 148 cobra gtl and a 4 pin 29 Ltd classic. I have a Shure 577b mic, may I please get some assistance with wiring it. I am not sure which radio it sound better on, but it will be well worth it. Thank you for the support

Not sure if it's me or the site. But check out [Please login or register to view this link] You'll find your wiring diagrams for your Cobras. Can't check on the other as the site seems to be down.

Only problem is the mic won't wire to a electronic switching Cobra radio, it is not designed to, it will work on relay switching only. Shure years ago did have a kit which added another switch and new cord to work but I haven't seen any for years. If you use the forums search box you would find a couple posts stating this.

All the info you need is here; [Please login or register to view this link] , the mic will totally need to be rewired inside. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Re: Shure 577b mic
just a heads up, that mic is going to sound very thin and tiny on a cb radio. it only has a 1khz-5khz frequency response with a nasty spike at around 4khz. with the radios frequency response of around 2.8khz its gonna be very narrow banded. unless thats what your after then,
