Question on mobile amps
Hi, I’m new to the world of Cbs and I’m running a Stryker 665 and was wonder what kinda amp I could run with it. Not looking for crazy power just a little more. I hoping to find one that would be able to mount to the bottom side of my Cb. Thanks

Re: Question on mobile amps
no they cannot . But you can put one to 6 watts in and get alot more out. If you looking for something you can put 100 watts in i don't think many amps handle that high of an input well. They stryker has a variable power correct ? Im mean you said you wanted just a little more ?

Re: Question on mobile amps
Yes I can turn rd output down but I don’t know what the lowest power output would be. I don’t have to test.

Re: Question on mobile amps
My low rms is 15 watts. That’s with the power all the way down. I was looking for a Palomar 450hd or something comparable
Re: Question on mobile amps
I use the RM Italy KL-503, I have my Galaxy DX959 set for a 1 watt dk swinging to about 12 watts. And with the kl-503 i get about 300 watts output.

Re: Question on mobile amps
OK Im thinking you'll need at least a straight four pill to handle that And that's a lot more output. The Rm Italy will not handle that .None of those models will.

Re: Question on mobile amps
Dead key is 1.5 swings to 50 on lowest rf power. Ok I will look at 4 pill. Those are pretty large sized amps. Maybe I will just be happy with what I got going on

Re: Question on mobile amps
I agree... I would go with a high performance skip shooting amplifier for that high of a drive.Deano814 wrote: January 22nd, 2019, 12:56 pm Dead key is 1.5 swings to 50 on lowest rf power. Re: Question on mobile amps
Yep. The Stryker 665 has 4 mosfet finals, about equal to a dual final radio...Your going to need something like a straight 4-pill or 6-pill to run with it...A Texas Star 500V would work, or one of the Custom box's like Davemade or XForce maybe... and then your going to be looking at around a 450-500w output...
This is another reason I got away from dual final type radios...They cost more, and you limited to what you can run with one...
I get more "Bang for the Buck" running a single final radio (like a stock CB) and pairing it up with a amp that has a driver stage in it (1x2. 1x4)
What I have now in the mobile is a President McKinley, with a 1x2 and see right at 400-450w's and get more complements on how it sounds than I ever did back when I was running my General Lee and a 4-pill or any dual final radios I had in the past doing around 500w.
