President Lincoln 1 interferes with GPS
I just bought a used President Lincoln 1 and when I hooked it up my GPS instantly lost signal just by turning it on. I wired it straight from the batteries(I drive a semi truck). The antenna cable is 18’ long running through the headliner. I know it was tweaked at some point but I’m not sure what was done. I was hoping somebody might have some advice as to what I can do to fix this.

This is a new one on me, you mean President radio receiving (not transmitting) is interfering with the GPS? Does the GPS go back to normal with the radio off? Sounds like there is a problem with the GPS antenna, where is it located?

Re: President Lincoln 1 interferes with GPS
Yep as soon as I turn on the radio it kills the GPS signal to my GPS(the GPS has an internal antenna only) and I noticed it will do the same to my cell phone. I have the CB above the windshield and the GPS was below as was my phone. I tried moving the GPS as far away as practical but it was no help. That’s why I joined up with your group, I couldn’t find anyone on google with the same issue so I thought I’d go straight to the professionals

Re: President Lincoln 1 interferes with GPS
I really don't have a clue, there is no practical reason for this to be happening. The radio does have a minuet RF signal in the receive mode but nothing strong enough or in the frequency range to interfere with a cell or GPS. It being a used radio it might be possible someone tried using a Bluetooth device and had something like that installed inside the case, that is the only thing I can think of that would cause the interference.

Wow, that is bizarre!!!! Both cell and GPS???? No clues at all. I will run it by some other folks I know.

Re: President Lincoln 1 interferes with GPS
So I know it’s got a MRF 455 in but it has a wire coming off of it going on to the board. Would this be an issue? Also on IC 315 there’s a yr103 capacitor running to two different posts. I’m not sure if these are causing the problems or not.
I would like to show you some pictures but I don’t know how, could someone help with that

Re: President Lincoln 1 interferes with GPS
I have never seen nor heard of that mod using a MRF455 but even so your problem is receive mode interference, the final transistor has no power going to it then. Let's get it straight, the problem is during receive?

That’s correct. All I do is turn the radio on and I lose GPS signal

And the Lincoln is receiving signals? Are you sure the radio is not transmitting?acethunder wrote: January 26th, 2019, 8:17 am That’s correct. All I do is turn the radio on and I lose GPS signal
