Skip was great this morning
Starting to die down, but I was talking to Raleigh, SC from the Chicago suburbs on an unmodified 4w unit! He sounded great, and said I sounded crystal clear.

It was from the north last night, Nova Scotia was coming in big time. This morning I gave out a second contact for a WR member, so far not a bad day, just sitting at the radio and computer waiting for it to start snowing.

Got a lot of skip from the north yesterday. Then suddenly, around 5 pm, Arizona came booming in over everything on channel 19 am. Weird.
And Greg, wish it'd snow here. We're caught in the foggy, smoggy gray inversion. It's depressing. You can barely see through the stuff and breathing it hurts. The barren trees look like ice crystals and even the radio signals have a hard time getting in or out through the murkiness. The valleys of Utah in January can be unforgiving.

We've been in a solar minimum for a while. Looks like activity will pick up around 2021?

I heard a lot of skip here in December, but not much from then until this month. I made contacts on the 7th, 9th, and briefly on the 10th. Hopefully we'll get a bit more this weekend!

It will be spotty at best the next couple years. Predictions say it will be ramping up mid 2020. I say listen to the radio for it.

Haven't heard anything since December as well. NOAA is predicting a G1 Geomagnetic Storm tomorrow, so we might be able to hear something.
