I did some trading and picked up an S6..any thoughts? I drive a 2000 979 Pete dump truck. Just started really trying to learn about radios..but must say I've got the bug! I love reading the info on here and appreciate the help.

I saw nothing wrong with Magnum radios back in the day, most were considered top of the line, only problem I heard about but never experienced was the printed circuit boards were thin and vibration would cause them to crack breaking traces. Buying one used I would have it gone over and aligned,, it probably had a few "Golden Screwdrivers" inside it and is adjusted way to high to be reliable.

Thanks Greg. I had it peaked and tuned. Inside was nice and clean..was turned turned up way too much but that's about it. Gonna hook it up in my dump bucket and see how she holds up..always got my ol reliable 929 to fall back on.
