Re: Your Local Channel?
When I lived in Long Beach, Ca the locals were on 6, 16, and 34 USB. In Keokuk, Ia it was 15 and 19. Now I'm on the west side of Phoenix and it seems that 19 is the only place I hear any locals and most of those are agitators.

Re: Your Local Channel?
My closest locals share the space on Channel 25 AM. Otherwise, I am on 38 LSB trying to make contacts as possible.

Back in the day it was 37 LSB. But that group is all long gone. Nowadays, where I live, you can pretty much choose any channel since there's not much activity.

I really do not think we have a local channel now, but back in the day I remember 13,25,32 as local channels.

Like I said, there's so little activity here you can choose any channel you want. You could hang out on Channel 9 all day if you wanted to without any complaints.

Re: Your Local Channel?
Im located close to Hwy 6 and 401. Campbellville.
19 is heavy but i have heard chatter on 28, 7.
If anyone is local or close by let me know. I would like to get a true radio check and see what kind of distance i am getting on my K30 antenna.

Re: Your Local Channel?
I'm not sure what's left of the local channels here now, as I do not turn on the radio very often and when I do, I don't hear anybody.
When it was really active roughly 14-20 years ago, the channels I remember, 3, 8, 16, 22. Then as people passed away / moved channels a bit do to trucker noise, channel 33 and occasionally 16. Last channel that was very active was 33 up until maybe 2012, but that was a number of years ago, we moved from ch16 to 33 as were getting interference. I think I remember any locals are now just hanging out on channel 19. Whenever I turn on the radio now I can't find really any locals usually. I put a couple of my old CB's in the cars in 2018, but it was for car to car communication, not local chat or skip.
I miss turning on the CB all hours of the day / night and it being packed full of locals, I even miss some of the drama that would go on. I turn it on now and either can not drum up even a radio check, or only hear some random truckers passing through, and I never cared to chit chat on 19 / with truckers.

Re: Your Local Channel?
Hendersonville NC used to monitor 11 as the call channel. I'm the only dinosaur left. Everyone else is SK or given up on CB. I monitor 19 when on the interstate to keep up with the traffic conditions.
There was a REACT group in Asheville NC, but as far as I know they disbanded years ago.
I do hear some stations in upstate SC but don't believe they have a call channel.

Cool, I’ll tune in if the locals cooperate on the adjacent channels, I can make it across the Bay with no problems.De_Wildfire wrote: Jan 29 2020, 11:33 We hang on channel 16 LSB every Thursday after 9:00. The "Round Up."
