I was given a general Washington it has hum when you change channels and change bands it and when key up and try to talk to someone they can hear it too thank you

I'm interested in this too. A hum usually means a cap is bad in the filtering section. I know it is an "RCI" board but what number is it?

That is the same board as the Galaxy 77HML, there is probably a cold solder joint on the board near the big capacitor in the back right. Follow the power leads in and start checking there.

Try tightening the ground screws that secure the circuit board to the chassis...
