Im looking for a good external speaker for my base set up (i run mobiles as base radios). Id like to have 2 speakers if possible. Can computer speakers be used?

You can use any 4 to 15w, 8 ohm speakers as a external speaker...Bose TV surround-sound system speakers I hear work really well...

Workman/Astatic/Valor have a 10watt, I think workman called it the President. I have always had luck with that one sounding well. Always had good luck with the Uniden 15watt.

I am using a 50yo Radio Shack bookshelf speaker, has a 6" round 2oz magnet, good sound and perfect for the range a CB radio has. I would rummage around second hand stores for speakers.

Ive got a Barjan, maybe 8 watt? Its ok, but interested in a better set up. Im sure a 15 watt speaker would be better. Thanks

I do have a pair of door speakers that i could fashion into something, add a 3.5 mm jack plug..worth a shot!

I use two West Mountain Radio Speakers and they don't get any interference when I run 1.5kw on 10 meters. They look like computer speakers and they sound great.
