need help with modulation-on 2000 gtl

hello to all
i have a cobra 2000 gtl that i pick up about 3 weeks ago i put it back to stock as it had stuff done to it clarifier open TR24 missing low power anyway got the radio up and running except to me a modulation problem what i mean by that is with R131 cut radio swings from 2 watts rms on bird meter to 7 1/2 watts but i want to keep the limiter R131 intact and when i do that the radio from 2 watts dead key only swings just past 2 1/2 watts.also when r131 is cut i can adjust vr7 modulation meter but when r131 is enable i can't adjust mod meter on radio vr7 wide open only give less than 1/2 the meter scale. i made a video of it for better understanding

Same issue But mine Is a 148gtl R131 cut nothing fixed that nothing watts mines at 2 1/2 all the pots max etc... nothing I even replaced the Mofsets still nothing If I use a regular mic nothing I have to use a power mic........ No clue sorry Im still looking for my fix I will relay if I find anything

ok thanks by the way does your have 2166 for driver and a old school 1969 that new 1969 with do that low power found out the hard way

yeah it does .. The"NEW" final was a 1/4 watter so luckily I had a old SC1969 I used that the 2166 I got was from a different place and it was the real Mitsubishi Mofset the other sc1969 the picture they showed was correct but when I got it was totally different.... and I told them about it too....

TR24 is the modulation limiter, was always a hack's peak & tune to remove it, some did it for a NPC-RC mod (yes, back in the day I did several).
