Cable Nightmares

Post by Deleted User 30222 »

And yes, i have thought of the obvious. Cable ties and such. But do i need to worry about any wires or cables crossing. Do i need any ferrites on anything? What do you all do? Trying to use different color cable and wires to keep things straight. But just looking for opinions.

Are you talking about neatening up the shack?? I use spiral wrap. From the back of my monitors down to the computer, power leads, etc. Best part is it is reusable.

I also use the spiral wrap for neatness. Keeping the antenna, power supply wires, acoustic separate from each other to prevent interference. :geek: :geek: :geek:

I am taping post-it notes to coax about what it is connected to. I put ferrite cores on all wires running anywhere. Things are getting a lot easier to keep track of with the labels and excess wires get coiled, zip tied and stacked. Don't get me wrong, there are still a few stray wires running around, but certaainly better than it has been.

So connecting a power cable to a coax won't cause any kind of interference. That's my biggest worry

I would wrap the power, computer network, and audio together but not with the coax, (CB coax that is, cable/satellite/OTA TV coax is fine).
