Sweet 16 safety fuses

Looking at my instructions for the sweet16, it show 5 - 30 amp fuses being used on the positive side. But since I'm using this as a base and it will be using a regulated power supply. Do I still need to use the fuses?

Yes, you totally still need to use the fuses even if you are using a regulated power supply. The fuses are there to protect the power supply and the track from damage in case of a short circuit or overload.

A regulated power supply may help to prevent these problems, but it cannot completely eliminate them. The fuses are a safety feature that is there to protect your investment and you.

Thanks. Any thoughts on the best way to wire these fuses up. Some kind of connectors for it? I've used butt spices and things like that in the past. But not for this much power. I'll be using 4 AWG wire. Sure not going to use wire nuts and electrical tape for this.

Solder all the splices and intertwine them into the large power leads. I would use shrink tubing to cover and seal all exposed copper wire.

I went with an easier route. I picked up a ANL 150 amp fuse and holder with a 1 ft 4 awg cable with 5/16 lug to match the ANL holder. This way will be simple and cleaner for me. Thanks for the response.

No problem, I was going by your pic. You can get big circuit breakers now a days, back when those instructions were written large fuses were expensive.
