Portable Radio Setups

Field Day will be held in public places around the country Saturday and Sunday. If you get a chance and see a lot of portable radio set ups in public parks and public places, check it out. They practice emergency communications with generators, solar generators, shoot wire antennas into trees, etc etc. They make contacts all over the country and into other countries. Some antenna set ups can be applied to 11 meters with a little tweaking but it's good to see what's out there if you want to operate away from home in remote places. Just google ARRL field day and more information is available.
