What's an Alternative to the Honda Ei2200 Generator?

I'm looking for an alternative to the Honda Ei2200 generator that does not cause major RF over the radio. Honda is a bit expensive. Does anyone out here know of a good alternative?

I would reccomend the Westinghouse. My company repairs gensets and other appliances. We are Factory Authorized for most generators listed here. I personally would buy Westinghouse if I needed a generator. Any generator you buy in this style and power range must be maintained. Oil changes, air filters and the like must be done. The Honda is the best and will last a long time but is very costly.

Wind, Thanks for the info on the Westinghouse. A couple of years ago, we had a Generac 2000 that caused a loud buzz at Field Day and this Past Field last weekend we had a small RF buzz on the radio with the Champion Dual fuel 2500 generator but the buzz wasn't as bad. I will look at the other options given here along with the new idea of Solar Generators for portable use to power two way radios and lap tops for only logging.

Using a battery will cure that problem for sure. If you run a 110 or 220 volt set up get an inverter. Also if you are running an AC system if you get the right power strip that may help too. But not all the power strips some are plain Jane...

That's a great point. I could use a shielded power strip. I think we had a few plain Jane's hooked up.

Yes, it's a good thread. If the power grid goes off, we need to fire up those generators and shoot some skip into DX land, it's nice to know that the buzzing noise from them is cut way down to a minimum because of a right choice and a decent generator. It's hard to hear the mud ducks with the wrong generator in line off grid. We take our power grid for granted but at the same time, the storms out here are worse causing more power outages.
