Metrotek Mustang II help with crystals??
Hi all, does anyone have information on what type of crystals a Metrotek Mustang II CB takes? I know they are HC-6U size but are the 1/2 fundamental or the exact frequency or some other type of crystal?
Thanks, for any help. Adam

If you're looking for exact replacement crystals, I'd recommend checking with a CB radio repair service or a supplier who specializes in older radios to ensure you're getting the correct frequency match.

That is a very old radio, to find any information try locating a Sam's Photofacts CB-9, that will have the type of crystals needed. To get crystals, you are going to visit a bunch of hamfests or pay big bucks on the internet. From knowledge but my brain isn't what it used to be, it uses a TX crystal that is the exact frequency (ch 1 - 26.965) and the RX crystal is lower because of the receiver mixing crystal.

I agree with MDYoungblood. I would check out some hamfests.Thats the route I would take first.

I did at one time has all the Sam's and several other publications for CB's and ham radios but with moving and feeling I wouldn't need them anymore , they were sold and given to others.adamf wrote: Oct 05 2024, 09:59 Thanks Greg, understood, was hoping someone out there had it or the manual, we'll see but thanks for the post. I think Trapper267 on the forum has copies of the Sam's, send him a PM and ask,
