I picked up a Powerwerx Anderson 30 amp power supply to run the VHF/UHF radios. So far I haven't heard any interference from it on the HF bands.

I picked up a Connex 3300X with an American flag face. $182 on Ebay. I will never sell any of my radios.
Also same day picked up a Galaxy 95t Big Rig series. Paid big money but it's a chrome top and bottom cover and tuned up good.

I picked up an air cannon to shoot up wire antennas into the trees in case I set up shop in the state parks using their picnic tables doing portable operation. Nature and radio can go hand in hand.

Re: What have you recently acquired for new radio gear ?
I recently picked up a President Lincoln 2 Plus with ASC. And an RM Italy KL 503 HD amplifier.
The president Lincoln is a bit smaller than I like but it has the bells, whistles and frequency range I prefer.
It also has a 6 digit counter which I feel is better than the standard 5 digit counter many radios have.
Im happy but now Im after a 1500 watt mobile antenna tuner !!

Those President Lincoln 2's are great radios. One of our radio club members is using one in his truck running 45 watts, using ham stick antennas and getting into many South American countries and Europe on 10 and 11 meters.

Re: What have you recently acquired for new radio gear ?
My new Elk hand held five element, two foot long log periodic dual band hand held beam is on the way. It's going to be used for fox hunting (direction finding), searching for distant repeaters and also for base station use. It's going to be a lot easier to find the "fox" during fox hunting events for sport when the fox beacon is hidden. It's coming from Elk Antennas.

Re: What have you recently acquired for new radio gear ?
So let's get up to speed.
For the camper / van I ended up with a President McKinley II FCC with a President DigiMike, fender channel mount antenna, Procomm 6" barrel spring, FireStik cable and an old Radio Shack 102" whip. Tried Reusing the Hustler so called stainless spring but that was pretty rusty, this ProComm seems to actually be made of real stainless!
The truck is still pending, but more or less a copy and paste of the van. The radio is in the SUV for now...
The SUV has the President McKinley II FCC and DigiMike scheduled for the truck installed, with a Wilson 1000 on the roof with dead flat SWR at 1.1 across the band. Same as the 102 on the van so happy with it... Once the truck is good to go, planning on swapping an already in my inventory Realistic TRC-465 + Realistic noise cancelling power mic in place.
For the base, Dipole antenna, still need coax and to run it vertically up the tree in the back yard, an RM Italy low pass filter, and another in my inventory TRC-465,

Coils = loss.
Good audio, Quality coax, sturdy mounts, good springs, and a big stainless stick get you out and give you ears!

Re: What have you recently acquired for new radio gear ?
@Bozo I can't edit my last post. Please merge posts for me...
Like others have said in this thread and others, for the most part, I will not / have not sold any of my radios, at least the ones I liked...
I have been through a couple of AM only Realistic compact radios that I gave away to guys just starting out in the hobby.
I used to have a Cobra 148GTL that was still installed in my old Saturn when I divorced my ex wife, she got the car and the radio in the divorce. She HATED CB radio but just did NOT want me to have that one for any reason whatsoever.
The TRC-465s are exceptional radios, but they are also VERY old now. I need to have someone that knows what they are doing go through them and get them back to being excellent radios.
No judgement on my part for anyone that is using an export radio / converted 10m radio on CB, just not my thing, Long term goal here is...
McKinley II FCC in the camper van w/102" whip. Seems to do the trick just the way I want it to.
McKinley II FCC in the SUV with the Wilson 1000. I want to run an Anderson connector under dash to make this removeable without using the lighter outlets... My domestic situation and plan has changed since I got a serious GF after losing my wife. I bought the SUV as a temporary vehicle for me, now it looks like this is going to be the GFs car...
The additions and long term...
I would prefer to find President McKinley II FCC as I want AM/FM/SSB in a type accepted radio, and really like the front firing speaker and performance of the McKinley II FCC, but they were a limited production run... If President brings them back I will be a VERY happy camper. Failing that, President George FCC. More features than the McKinley II FCC, but not ones I would be likely to use, and lacking front firing speaker (BOO!) And yes add the President DigiMike. I LOVE those mics, can't stand the stockers as they feel like nothing in hand and don't filter noise at all.
1 for use in the 4x4 pickup, with a 102" whip on a custom mount off of the drivers side, OR a fender channel mount. This is going to be tough because of the camper shell.
1 for use as a base station with a MegaWatt 50 amp Power Supply. Run that through a low pass filter to avoid harmonics on my neighbors stuff and avoid complaints, and coax out to the Double Bazooka Dipole antenna up in the back yard tree.
Low Pass Filter will probably be RM Italy 35/600 as they seem to be from what I have seen and heard lowest insertion loss and, well most effective at controlling harmonics. I could be wrong here...
LONGEST term, and this is win the lotto territory type stuff, but a piece of land with no HOA, a nice beam antenna / rotator most likely a MaCo Comet.... On a good mast on top of a man cave / wood shop / radio shack in the back yard on a high point... Again if I ever won the lotto type stuff.

I just got a new Comet CAA-500MARKII Antenna Analyzer. The 33 year old MFJ analyzer bit the dust and it's time for a new change. It has a mix of analog and digital readout. Time to build more stealth antennas!

A new President George FCC, along with the bits and pieces to throw a repaired A99 into the air. After many years, I finally have a base setup again. Now, if I could only find a few locals.
