Microsoft has acknowledged a significant bug affecting audio on multiple versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11. The issue, which has been widely reported by users, can completely disable a PC’s sound, leading to frustration and disruptions.

The Scope of the Issue

The bug appears to impact a broad range of Windows devices, with reports indicating that it affects various configurations and hardware setups. Users have experienced sudden audio loss, with some unable to restore sound even after troubleshooting attempts such as reinstalling drivers or adjusting settings.

Microsoft’s Response

Microsoft has confirmed that it is aware of the problem and is actively working on a fix. While the company has not provided a specific timeline, users can expect an update to resolve the issue soon. In the meantime, Microsoft may release temporary workarounds to mitigate the problem.

What You Can Do

If your PC’s audio has stopped working, some potential troubleshooting steps include:
  • Restarting your device
  • Updating or reinstalling audio drivers
  • Checking sound settings and output devices
  • Running the Windows Troubleshooter

While these solutions may not work for everyone, they could help restore functionality in some cases.

A Fix is Coming

Microsoft has reassured users that an official fix is in development, which will likely be delivered through a future Windows update. Until then, those affected may need to rely on temporary solutions or rollback options if available.

Stay tuned for further updates as Microsoft addresses this widespread audio bug.

I also think they added some code to slow down Windows 10 systems because my computer was super fast until the update by Microsoft. I have been told by a computer junkie that he has been using recovery on client's computers to bring them back up to expectations. His and my conclusion is they did this to get the new or refurbished Window 11 computers sitting on the shelves in an effort to get them selling.
