cobra 148 no talk

i got one of them there cobra 148 gtl and was talking fine and then it stop talking it will still keyup but it dont talk any ideas on wat it could be?if not to the shop it will go.

it might just be your mic... try another mic you know is good. if that dont work send it off to a shop

nope hook it up to my mic tester and it worked on it.

Hey, what did you find out on your 148. I got a friends that did the same thing. receives static too. no voice... i found a reason, but not the cause or fix. its way off frequency and its unstable... IE: 26.66+/- MHz it bounces all over. it also wont change when switching the channel selector. I hooked it up to one of the old mobile radio testers and saw the freq. its still talking, just way out in space somewhere... any ideas here? help (sides the cbshop, cause that's next....)

turn out to be ic chip . was not passing voltage to make the keying switch work. he replaced it and started talking again.while i was there just could help it i got me a new general lee load to the max. had for a week and this morning sold it trucker made me an offer i just couldn't say no to.and now just got off the phone with my tech told him what i did and told him to get me another one ready and to load it out and get me a feq. counter to go with it.said he had a new general lee called nitro with blue nobs will i'll just have to see it.i'll see it buyit and chrome it out.

Now thats the way to do it... heheheh,.... i just got me a connex 3300 hp and love it. I'll do the same as you if i get the opportunity. hehehe. Got it at sparkys pretuned and peaked so no hassles and did i mention, I love it. hehehe
