Anybody ever heard of gettin a 6 volt battery n hookin up reverse to the 12 volt battery n gettin 18 volts? Sum yahoo cb shop around here keeps blabbin on the radio he is gettin 20.8 volts out of it and keeps tryin to get me to set mine up this way but i aint to sure about all dat $hit?

You really shouldnt hook up a 6 volt to a 12 volt, unless you're certain the plates inside the battery are the same. Will it work? Yeah, it will work, but, isnt the correct way to go about it.

Now three golf cart 6 volt batteries that are identical models, etc, thus identical plates inside the batteries, identical CCA rating, etc. thats the correct way to do it.

I might catch hell for saying that up above, but.. like I said, it would work with a 12v and 6v, for supplying power that is.

OK it will work but is it sumpn that u would want to run your equipment on in other words is it guna mess your radio/amp up runnin it like this?

lots of guys use them trojin 8v batts and run a 16v but there other things ya got to get to do that than just 2 batts

I think ill jus run mine off of the ole 13.8 n c what i can get out of er that way ROYJA.

I didn't think you could talk on something (amp or radio) for more than just a few seconds at that high of a voltage...

I could be wrong though.

Hey Duck, just run 13.8 volts amp will last for years. You will see more watts with more volts but forget it. If you want more watts get a Bigger amp!

RODKNOCKA i heard dat i dont really want to fry my amp so i am gonna stick with the ole 13.8 system.
