Antenna mounting?
Antenna mounting?
Is a mag mount gonna be better for my 10K than just a regular mirror mount bolted to the front of my bed on my truck?

Not really no...By bolting the mount, you should get a better ground. Pending on how and where it's mounted.
Mag Mounts will work with the 10K, problem I have with them is the rust spots and scratches that generally come from the magnets against the paint.
If you mount to the bed rail of your truck, be sure you also run ground straps from the bed to the frame of the truck, to insure the bed is well grounded...May even want to run a ground strap from the mount itself to the frame...

rite now i have a peice of square tubing mounted vertical bolted to the front of my bed rail and bolted to the bottom of the bed the square tubing is flush with the top of the cab and is also grounded itself to the frame with a ground strap. The only problem i have is my 10K has a 17" shaft i think it is long and i have tried a 9" shaft and cant get my swr below 1.5 with my long shaft it is 1.1 but i would rather have a shorter shaft and longer stinger simply because i hunt alot in and out of trees alot and don't want to have to replace coils all the time ive alredy broke it a couple of times. I guess thats what i neede to ask is do u think my swr will be the same mounteed on the roof on magnet as it is now or should it tune out with the shorter shaft on a magnet?

The shorter shafts simply will not tune as low, as the longer shaft Predators do...Now if you can mount a short shaft 10K high enough over the roof line, then maybe it would tune lower. But if your going to do that, may as well go with a longer shaft to begin with.
Now you can order a 27" shaft from John, if you have the 17" now. but want to up-grade your antenna...
By the way....unless your just running ton's of watt's, a 1.5swr is just fine...
